Dr. Million M. Afessa is a dedicated researcher and senior lecturer with a PhD in Sustainable Energy Engineering and over 14 years of experience in a multi-disciplinary research framework. My research expertise lies in thermochemical conversion of agricultural biomass for biofuel applications, with a strong focus on pyrolysis, co-pyrolysis, and gasification. my doctoral research was conducted in collaboration between Politecnico di Milano’s Department of CMIC and Jimma University, Jimma Institute of Technology (JiT).
Currently, I am a Senior Lecturer at JiT, where I actively contributes to research, community service engagement and teaching under the Sustainable Energy Engineering chair. I am passionate about advancing renewable energy technologies, enhancing waste-to-bioenergy conversion, and evaluating the economic and environmental aspect to achieve the SDG goals of 2023 .my research also extends to energy policy and economics, aiming to bridge the gap between scientific innovation and practical implementation.
As a collaborative and forward-thinking researcher, I thrives in interdisciplinary teams, encouraging knowledge-sharing and the application of cutting-edge techniques in sustainable energy.
